Refused    cast resin, lithography on satin, varied dimensions, 2002

Refused is an installation of lithographic prints and cast resin frames. The prints are appropriated from photographs found in family albums. Making a historical reference to Courbet’s Salon de Refusé, the piece refers to images that the artist never experienced. Thousands of resin cast frames arranged on the wall, inundate the viewer with personal, yet universal black and white images.
